February is Utah CTE Month. Dixon joins the Utah State Office of Education in celebrating Career and Technical Education Month.
The mission of Career and Technical Education is to provide all students with a seamless education system, from public education to postsecondary education, driven by a College and Career Ready Plan, through competency-based instruction, culminating in essential life skills, certified occupational skills, and meaningful employment.
CTE prepares students for careers that are most in demand and that are part of the economic development of the state. These classes are taught by: Mr. Capps and Mr. Starling (Business), Mr. Wardel (Tech and Engineering), Ms Ordaz and Mrs. Hutchings (Family and Consumer Sciences).
At Dixon, with the support of Administration, we have expanded on the basic curriculum of CTE and offered our students enriching Keyboarding, Robotics, Programming and Coding, Drafting, Computer Animation and more.
