On Thursday, March 30, Dixon will welcome incoming 6th graders from their respective elementary schools. Students will be bussed to Dixon in the afternoon where they will meet their PAWS (homeroom) teacher for next year, see a tour of the school, and be introduced to a few things that makes Dixon the special school it is. The ultimate goal of inviting our incoming students is to ease growing anxieties about the transition from elementary to middle school, and to answer any questions about classes or the schedule that may arise.
Current 7th grade students are expected to be in a Job Shadow assignment during this day. 8th grade students will attend school for the morning, where they will participate in our Reality Town program.
After school, parents of incoming students are invited to attend our Open House, from 6 to 7pm. Teachers and staff will be present to answer questions, and their doors will be open so parents and students can see the classrooms they will potentially be attending next year.
We hope to see you at Dixon tomorrow!
