About After School Programs
Dixon offers a variety of Afterschool classes with the goal of creating a safe, welcoming environment for students to master I Can Statements, grow academically, and learn new skills.
We are pleased to offer Support classes in Math, Science, and English. These classes focus on re- teaching I Can Statements in a smaller setting and using different teaching strategies to give each of our students an opportunity to master every I Can statement.
Homework Help is available everyday. Students have access to certified teachers, Afterschool staff, and UVU/BYU tutors who are all happy to help with homework. If you interested in volunteering in our after school programs please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We also offer enrichment classes and character development classes that are fun for students and teach them new skills such as technology, athletics, acting, life skills, and more.
After-school classes take place at Dixon from 3:00-4:45. There is a late bus for students who live within bus boundaries. Registration Forms are in the Main Office and can be turned in to the Financial Office. There is a $10 entry fee to take enrichment and character development classes.
There are no After School classes on Early Release Days, No School Days, and days that other events occur after school; e.g. STEM Fair, STOMP Dance. Classes run from 3:20 – 4:45. Snacks are at 3:00 – 3:15. The bus leaves at 4:45.
Before School Program
The Panther Lounge is open to students everyday for an hour before school begins in the conference room right across from the Choir Room. This is a place where students can do homework, hang out with friends, or play games on the Wii.
Who is Eligible?
Every Dixon student is eligible to attend Before or After School classes. However, some of our classes require students to make a commitment to the class. Students who get cast in drama or who sign up for TSA or Science Olympiad must commit to regular attendance for the duration of the class.
